Building with Paper – Architecture and Construction

The exhibition Building with Paper stems from the interest and focus of the research project ‘BAMP! Building with Paper’ in Darmstadt, Germany. Here, researchers from various disciplines examine the topic from the material to the building level on different scales and try to establish an area of specialization.

The results of the research cooperation und the corresponding and accompanying work around the topic of building with paper are compiled in an atlas and compendium titled Building with Paper in German and English language. Based on the research project BAMP! Building with Paper, the research contents and also the status quo for building with paper were summarized by the editors Ulrich Knaack, Samuel Schabel and Rebecca Bach in this book. The Department of Sculptural Design as part of the BAMP! project contributed in chapters and  the design of the content with the knowledge of the authors Dipl.-Des. Marco Volkmann and Dipl.-Ing. Fabian Luttropp.

The book was published by Birkhäuser and is available commercially. The findings and basic knowledge for planners, designers and architects are offering the opportunity to further deepen the topic in building and construction architecture made of paper materials.
The team is looking forward to it and is working on new contributions for the next edition.
